Chesney disclosed that a trip to Las Vegas with his tour advisors and a viewing of the immersive U2 concert film “V-U2” at the Sphere were pivotal in his decision to stage his own performance at this venue.
“As we stood on the floor while the U2 show film played, we were completely captivated. We could see the band, but it transcended mere visuals. It seemed to take their performance and elevate it to another level,” Chesney shared. “Given the energy our shows generate, my imagination began racing with ideas. Once you witness how the performance envelops you from all angles, the possibilities become endless.”
For nearly a year, Chesney and his team have collaborated with the technical and creative experts at the 17,600-capacity venue to curate an immersive show.
The Sphere, christened by U2 during its grand opening in September 2023, hosted 40 performances, serving as a visual and auditory wonderland for acts such as Phish, Dead & Co, the Eagles (with upcoming shows through April), and Afterlife Presents Anyma.
