Wendy’s has exciting news for Frosty enthusiasts as the beloved vanilla flavor makes a return following a stint on the sidelines for a limited-time salted caramel Frosty. The fast-food chain made the announcement on Monday, Jan. 13, cautioning customers to indulge in the dessert “before it’s gone.” A cryptic statement from Wendy’s hinted at potential new Frosty flavor innovations in the pipeline for 2025.
The vanilla Frosty has a history of being periodically rotated out to make way for limited-time flavors. In 2024, flavors such as the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty inspired by SpongeBob SquarePants, triple berry Frosty, and orange dreamsicle Frosty took turns in the spotlight.
In addition to the flavor update, Wendy’s highlighted a “hack” for customers to enjoy the returning treat for free: the Frosty Key Tag. Priced at $3, the key tag grants customers a complimentary Jr. Frosty on each visit throughout 2025. Unlike previous years where the key tag provided a free Frosty daily, this year’s tag allows for a freebie with every purchase.
The complimentary Frosty offer kicks in once customers possess the tag and remains valid for redemption until Dec. 31, 2025. Customers can acquire digital or physical key tags through Wendy’s stores or app by navigating to the “Give Something Back” menu category. Additionally, physical key tags can be purchased in bulk through the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption website, with Wendy’s donating 90% of the proceeds to the foundation.
For those with a hankering for savory delights, Wendy’s offers a 2 for $7 deal on four popular menu items until March 2. The deal covers options like the classic or spicy chicken sandwich, Dave’s Single burger, and crispy or spicy 10-piece chicken nuggets. Customers can take advantage of the offer in-store or via the app by accessing the “Meal Deals” section to select their preferred items.
