Titans’ Search for GM Heats Up with 10th Candidate!

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans concluded the initial phase of their search for a new general manager on Monday, having interviewed a total of ten candidates. Among them was Jon-Eric Sullivan, a key executive from the Green Bay Packers organization.

The Titans are now gearing up for the next round of interviews, which are scheduled to take place “in the coming days” as they seek to fill the vacancy left by Ran Carthon, who was relieved of his duties last week following a disappointing 9-25 record during his two-year tenure as general manager.

Leading the search effort is Chad Brinker, the team’s president of football operations. The process kicked off on Friday with a series of interviews, followed by additional sessions on Saturday and Sunday, culminating in Sullivan’s interview on Monday.

Sullivan currently serves as the vice president of player personnel for the Green Bay Packers, a role he assumed in 2022 after spending four seasons as co-director of player personnel. Prior to that, he held the position of director of college scouting from 2016 to 2017. His longstanding connection to the NFL dates back to 2004 when he joined the Packers as their national football scouting representative, having previously interned with the team during the 2003 training camp. Notably, Sullivan is the son of esteemed NFL and college coach Jerry Sullivan.

Brinker, who previously spent 13 seasons with the Green Bay Packers in various scouting roles, transitioned to the Titans in February 2023. Within the Packers organization, he oversaw the pro personnel department as the executive of personnel/football administration, where his responsibilities included managing free agency preparations and identifying undrafted free agent prospects. In addition, Brinker played a pivotal role in analyzing rosters across the NFL landscape, contributing his expertise to long-term player contract negotiations and salary cap management.

The Titans’ candidate pool for the general manager position features seasoned professionals with significant experience in the league. Among the notable figures interviewed early on in the process were Reggie McKenzie and Thomas Dimitroff, both of whom have previously held general manager roles in the NFL.

As the Titans continue their search for a new general manager, the organization remains committed to thorough evaluation and diligent consideration of all potential candidates to ensure the best fit for the future of the franchise.
