Protect Your TikTok Videos Before US Ban! Save Now!

Here are the top methods to preserve your TikTok content as a potential ban looms in the United States. TikTok could face a ban in the US if its parent company, ByteDance, fails to secure a buyer within a week. While TikTok offers the option to download and save videos, the process can be cumbersome. Some alternatives like Triller also provide ways to transfer TikTok content. With the threat of a TikTok ban in the US imminent, users are exploring ways to archive their content. Last year, Congress passed a law aimed at curbing the influence of social media apps linked to nations considered adversaries by the US, prompting ByteDance to seek a buyer for TikTok in the US by January 19 to avoid a ban. TikTok has contested the law in court, with the Supreme Court recently hearing arguments from TikTok and the Biden administration regarding a potential delay in the law’s enforcement, now set for January 19. Legal experts anticipate the Supreme Court upholding the ban, with Matthew Schettenhelm from Bloomberg Intelligence stating that a denial of the stay is likely. During the hearing, TikTok’s lawyers warned of the app potentially ceasing operations in the US if the law is enforced. In such a scenario, TikTok’s users may want to safeguard their content in advance. Here are some options to consider: Triller recently introduced a service allowing users to back up their TikTok videos and transfer them to the Triller app, but the process isn’t as straightforward as claimed. Alternatively, users can manually save their TikTok content within the app by downloading videos individually. TikTok permits users to save videos while posting by selecting the “Save to device” option, or by downloading their entire profile data through the app’s settings.

To download your data, go to the settings menu and tap “Download your data.” This information was originally reported by Business Insider.
