Police in Scotland are still in search of two sisters who were last spotted walking near a river three days ago. On Thursday, Jan. 9, Police Scotland issued a public appeal to locate 32-year-old siblings Eliza and Henrietta Huszti after their last sighting on CCTV at Market Street near Victoria Bridge in Aberdeen at approximately 2:12 a.m. local time on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Authorities reported that the sisters had crossed the bridge and turned right onto a footpath beside the River Dee, heading towards the Aberdeen Boat Club.
Described as white and slim with long brown hair, Eliza and Henrietta are the subjects of an ongoing search effort. Chief Inspector Darren Bruce stated that “extensive inquiries” are being conducted to find the missing siblings. Search operations are being conducted in the vicinity where they were last seen, with the assistance of local officers, specialized search advisors, police dogs, and the marine unit.
Chief Inspector Bruce emphasized the significance of the Torry side of Victoria Bridge, indicating the presence of various commercial and industrial units in the area. He urged businesses around South Esplanade and Menzies Road to review their CCTV footage from the early morning of Tuesday, January 7, 2025, and contact the authorities if they possess any relevant information. Additionally, individuals with dashcam footage from that timeframe are encouraged to come forward.
In an effort to gather more information, police are actively engaging with individuals who are acquainted with Eliza and Henrietta. Chief Inspector Bruce implored anyone who may have seen the sisters or has information regarding their whereabouts to reach out to the authorities promptly.
As the search for Eliza and Henrietta continues, Police Scotland informed PEOPLE via email that there have been no new developments, and search operations are ongoing. The community remains hopeful for a positive outcome as efforts persist to locate the missing siblings.
