Police reported that a burglary group made off with $40,000 in cash from two separate robberies in September. However, the overall amount stolen from ATMs during a three-month period remained uncertain. According to the NYPD, the robbery crew targeted numerous stores across New York City within the span of three months. Surveillance footage released by the authorities on Saturday depicted two unidentified individuals carrying an ATM out of a store.
In a separate incident, a suspect has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a postal worker at a deli in New York City over a dispute regarding a spot in line. The suspect is reported to have a history of violence involving knives. Police indicated that tens of thousands of dollars were taken from multiple ATMs during these criminal activities. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the burglaries. Law enforcement officials have reached out to the public for any information regarding the suspects involved in these incidents.
Recent police data as of December 29, 2024, revealed that a total of 12,923 burglaries had been reported citywide year-to-date, indicating a 6% decrease compared to the same period in 2023.
