Bech played a significant role in the Ivy League championship teams of 2016 and 2018. Another victim of the violence was Nicole Perez, a single mother who was celebrating the new year when the tragedy occurred. Despite facing challenges in the past year, Nicole had recently been promoted to a managerial position at Kimmy’s Market in Metairie, Louisiana. Described by her boss as a determined individual pulling through tough times, Nicole was known for her hard work and dedication to her job.
Referred to affectionately as Nikki, she had been an essential part of the market and Kimmy’s Deli for three years, often bringing her young son, Melvin, along with her.
