90 people died from extreme heat!

The number of people who died due to the heat wave that has been effective in Mexico since the beginning of the year has increased to 90.

According to the Mexican press, deaths are increasing due to record temperatures, especially in the states of Veracruz, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon and San Luis Potosi.

Nationwide, 90 people have died from extreme heat since the beginning of 2024.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, 29 people died due to extreme heat between 29 May and 5 June alone.

It was shared that approximately 2 thousand people applied to hospitals due to sunstroke.

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) announced that a new heat wave will be effective throughout the country and advised chronic patients not to go out at certain hours unless it is mandatory.

In the statement made by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), it was stated that the highest temperatures in the history of the country were seen in the last 15 days of May.

It is stated that temperatures exceeded 40 degrees in 14 states of Mexico.
