A man has been arrested following a brutal attack on an 82-year-old man at a bus stop in Birmingham. The victim was waiting at the number 74 stop on Soho Road in Handsworth, near the junction with Boulton Road, at approximately 3:30 pm GMT on Tuesday.
West Midlands Police took action based on information provided by the Soho Road Business Improvement District on Thursday, leading to the apprehension of a 43-year-old man on suspicion of wounding. The suspect remains in custody at this time.
The elderly man who was assaulted is currently hospitalized, with authorities describing his condition as critical. Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident, especially those with dashcam or mobile phone footage, to come forward with information.
