Peggy, who was looking forward to celebrating her 60th wedding anniversary, had a severe allergic reaction to the cookie. Her family is now suing Safeway over the mislabeled product. Peggy’s daughter, Lisa Bishop, shared that Peggy loved oatmeal raisin cookies. However, after taking a bite of the Safeway cookie, Peggy realized it was actually peanut butter, to which she was deathly allergic. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Peggy passed away within the hour due to anaphylaxis.
