75 thousand health workers on strike!

In the US, 75,000 health workers have walked off the job in the biggest strike in the country's history.

75,000 unionized employees of Kaiser Permanente, which provides services in the health sector, have stopped work. The strike covers the states of California, Colorado, Washington, Virginia and Oregon.

The union demanded across-the-board raises, outsourcing, safeguards for contract workers and pension improvements. The work stoppage will continue until October 7.
