As the year comes to a close, the team at Delish is not exactly winding down and relaxing. In fact, we are hustling through our to-do lists to wrap everything up before the winter break. From finalizing articles for New Year’s Eve to perfecting recipes like pecan pie brownies and taste-testing non-alcoholic beverages for Dry or Damp January, the Delish Kitchen Studios are buzzing with activity right up until the last minute.
Although we accomplished a lot this past year, including publishing 500 new recipes, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate. And what better way to do that than by asking members of our team about their favorite recipes from the year? Each person was tasked with selecting a recipe preferably published in 2024, though some from 2023 made the cut, and they had to have been involved in developing, styling, tasting, or editing the chosen recipe.
Here are their candid opinions on the recipes that stood out to them:
– Gabby Romero, Associate Editor: “Croissant Stuffing is a decadent twist on a Thanksgiving classic that I can’t get enough of. And Brooke’s sesame tofu & broccoli, even though it’s technically from 2023, is a weekly staple for me.”
– Brooke Caison, Food Editor: “Lemon Rolls are my top pick for the year. I also enjoyed working on the scallion pancake quesadillas and Thai sweet chili burgers.”
– Jo Saltz, Editorial Director: “Gabby’s Pumpkin Pie Sugar Cookies are a standout for me. They are not only delicious but also adorable, especially with the meringue topping.”
– Rob Seixas, Senior Food Director: “Brooke’s Sesame Tofu & Broccoli is a go-to for me. The balance of flavors and the crispy tofu make it a winner.”
– Francesca “Franki” Zani, Assistant Food Editor: “My Sausage & Broccoli Burrata Pasta is a personal favorite. The creamy burrata adds a delightful touch to the dish.”
Overall, it’s been a busy but rewarding year at Delish, with plenty of mouthwatering recipes and culinary creations to be proud of.
Exciting Party Sub
“One thing that comes to mind is the giant party sub we photographed over the summer. I absolutely adore it. Oh, and I can’t forget our Christmas wreath pavlova and our pumpkin s’mores cookies; both are incredibly delicious. The effort we put into retaking photos of the wreath pavlova was definitely worth it for the stunning final result.” – Jess Musumeci, Creative Director
