The iconic Tour de France is returning to its roots this year, with all 21 stages taking place exclusively in France for the first time since 2020. Last year’s race kicked off in Florence, Italy, and concluded with an individual time trial in Nice. The 112th edition of the Tour will showcase a challenging route comprising seven flat stages, six hilly stages, six mountain stages, and two individual time trials. A total of 184 riders across 23 teams will tackle the grueling 2,075-mile course over a span of three intense weeks, commencing on July 5.
Among the standout riders to keep an eye on are Tadej Pogačar from Slovenia and Jonas Vingegaard from Denmark, who have collectively secured the last five Tour de France titles. Pogačar, aged 26, displayed a dominant performance last year by clinching victories in both the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France, making history as the first rider to achieve this feat in a single season since 1998. In the previous Tour, Pogačar outshone Vingegaard by a margin of 6:17 and continued his winning streak in 2020 and 2021, finishing as the runner-up in 2022 and 2023.
