Amazon founder Jeff Bezos overtook Elon Musk in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, reclaiming the title of the world's richest man.

According to Bloomberg, Bezos' net worth rose to $200 billion, surpassing Tesla owner Musk's net worth of $198 billion.

30 BILLION DOLLARS LOST

Elon Musk, who also owns X and SpaceX, has lost more than $30 billion of his fortune as Tesla's share price has fallen 25 percent in recent months.

Adding to Musk's woes, in January the court approved the cancellation of a massive Tesla compensation deal worth $55.8 billion.

AMAZON'S LARGEST SHAREHOLDER

Bezos, who no longer runs Amazon, has meanwhile benefited from the e-commerce giant's rising stock prices.

He remains the company's largest shareholder, despite recently selling $8.5 billion of his shares.

Bernard Arnault, the French CEO of luxury group LVMH, ranks third in the ranking of the world's richest people with a fortune of 197 billion dollars.

Musk, who increased his fortune by 95 billion dollars with the contribution of the rise in Tesla shares, also drew attention as the billionaire who increased his wealth the most in 2023.
