Banksy confirmed on social media that the "stop" traffic sign with three airplanes resembling military drones was his. Shortly after Banksy's confirmation, the work was stolen in front of everyone's eyes.

Jasmine Ali, Deputy Leader of Southwark Council, said that the artwork 'should not be removed' and added: "We want it back so that everyone in the community can enjoy Banksy's amazing work." Ali also stated that they have applied to the police to help get the artwork back.

Police said in a statement that they were aware of the incident and that the stop sign had been replaced to avoid endangering motorists.
Banksy's new artwork was interpreted as a call for a ceasefire for Gaza to world leaders in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
THEY COULD FACE JAIL TIME
But contrary to what thieves think, it's hard to sell a stolen Banksy because of its fame. Last year, three men in their 30s were jailed in France for the theft of Banksy's mural, a tribute to the victims of the 2015 attack on the Bataclan concert hall in Paris.
In another incident 6 months later, Ukrainian authorities announced that 8 people were detained for the theft of Banksy's mural in Kiev.
It was stated that the work to find Bansky's work continues.
